  • Reiki (pronounced RAY-kee) is a holistic energy healing practice that promotes relaxation, balance, and well-being. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese words “Rei” (universal), and “Ki” (life force energy). This universal life force energy flows through all living beings and is believed to support physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

    Reiki originated in Japan in the early 20th century, developed by Mikao Usui. Usui created this practice as a way to channel and use this universal life force energy to support the body’s natural healing process. Originally rooted in ancient Eastern philosophies, Reiki is now practiced worldwide as a gentle and effective method for cultivating healing and harmony.

    This healing practice is soothing and non-invasive, making it accessible to anyone open to exploring its benefits. Clients often describe feelings of warmth, calm, and profound relaxation, as though a deep inner harmony is being restored.

  • Reiki works by balancing the body’s chakras, or energy centers, and clearing blockages that may disrupt the flow of energy. These blockages can form due to stress, emotional trauma, negative thought patterns, or even physical illness. When this energy flows freely, it supports physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. By harmonizing the body’s energy systems, Reiki creates a foundation for balance, peace, and healing.

    During a session, the Reiki practitioner, who is attuned to the flow of Reiki, serves as a channel for this universal life force energy, gently placing their hands on or just above the body. Rather than “healing” directly, the practitioner holds the space, guiding the energy to flow where it is needed most. Reiki energy itself is the healer, carrying a profound wisdom that intuitively knows how to support the client in each and every session. This process helps the client release blockages and restore balance within the energy body. Reiki’s benefits are not limited by physical proximity—It works effectively from a distance, as the energy transcends space and time to offer its healing presence wherever the client may be.

    From a scientific perspective, Reiki promotes relaxation and activates the body’s parasympathetic nervous system- commonly known as the '“rest and digest” state. This calming response can reduce stress, lower heart rate, and allow the body to shift from a reactive state into one of renewal and repair. Studies have also suggested that Reiki may help to regulate the body’s biofield, an energetic field that surrounds and interacts with the physical body.

    *Its important to note that Reiki is a complementary practice, not a replacement for medical care. Instead, it works alongside traditional and alternative therapies to enhance the body’s innate healing process.

  • In our time together, you can expect a peaceful space to relax, restore, and reconnect. We will begin with a brief conversation where we discuss your intentions, concerns, or any areas of focus for the session. You’ll then lie down comfortably, fully clothed, on a massage table.

    I start each session with a prayer to set the tone, protect our sacred space, and invite in the healing energy. I’ll then begin channeling Reiki energy and place my hands on or slightly above specific areas of your body, allowing the energy to flow where its most needed. You may experience sensations such as warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of calm as the energy works to release blockages and restore balance. It’s also completely normal to experience emotional release, such as crying, or to fall into a restful sleep during the session. Both are signs that the energy is working to support your body’s natural healing process.

    Each session concludes with grounding your energy and a closing prayer to help you feel centered and integrated. After this, we’ll take time to discuss any intuitive messages or insights that arose during the session. Most clients leave feeling lighter, balanced, and deeply at peace.

  • Reiki is open to everyone, regardless of age, background or beliefs. It’s not affiliated with any specific religion, making it a welcoming option for people from all spiritual paths or none at all.

    Because it works harmoniously with the body’s natural energy, this practice is safe for people of all ages and life stages, including pregnant women. You don’t need any prior experience—Reiki meets you exactly where you are and supports the uniqueness of your journey.
